EXCERPTS FROM THE NEWSLETTERS ..1
Walking a metaphysical path raises many conflicts of principle, morality and purpose within ourselves and in the process of awakening to our higher purpose, both the good and the bad is brought into consciousness. Deeply buried garbage in the form of mental conditioning and emotional programming as well as deeply buried joy wells to the surface. We need to learn how to process our garbage into compost to make fertile soil so that the seeds of joy that were given to us when we incarnated have a chance to grow to maturity. Great courage, determination and tenacity as well as compassion are required to resolve the conflicts that arise during our lifetimes.Thoughts are seeds and they are planted in the most subtle gardens of our souls. The fertile soil that exists there is capable of producing anything; any power, any accomplishment. We have but to desire to prepare the soil correctly. By keeping out the weeds of fear and doubt, and regularly composting our soil, we learn to become gardeners of the most subtle kind.
Sometimes students expect me to reach over and pull the weeds out of their garden or to water their garden; but what would happen if I did that? If the soil has not been correctly composted and watered daily with patience, tenacity and enthusiasm, the weeds would surely grow again, especially if the wrong kind of desire was used as a fertiliser. So, I have to look for the natural rhythms of growth and development within each individual, knowing that if development is hastened prematurely, disaster could well be the result as the needed lesson would not have been learned. Nonetheless, I am here to assist students to remove their own weeds and to show them how to compost correctly. I am sure everyone knows how to water their gardens.
A story by Nikos Kazantzakis illustrates my innermost feelings articulately.
“….I remembered one morning when I discovered a cocoon in the bark of a tree; just as the butterfly was making a hole in its case and preparing to come out. I waited a while, but it was too long appearing and I was impatient. I bent over it and breathed on it to warm it. I warmed it as quickly as I could and the miracle began to happen before my eyes, faster than life. The case opened, the butterfly started slowly crawling out, and I shall never forget my horror when I saw how its wings were folded back and crumpled; the wretched butterfly tried with its whole trembling body to unfold them. Bending over it, I tried to help it with my breath. In vain. It needed to be hatched out patiently, and the unfolding of the wings should have been a gradual process in the sun. Now it was too late. My breath had forced the butterfly to appear, all crumpled before its time. It struggled desperately and a few seconds later, died on the palm of my hand.
That little body is, I do believe, the greatest weight I have on my conscience. For I realise today that it is a mortal sin to violate the great laws of nature. We should not hurry, we should not be impatient, but we should confidently obey the eternal rhythm.”
Everything has its right time and place; and you will know that if things are flowing smoothly the right time has come for that particular event to occur. That does not automatically say that when difficulties occur, you should not persevere; you may be learning to develop qualities such as patience, determination, discernment, comprehension, perception or understanding.
There was a song on the charts when I was young that made people aware of that very theme. It was taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1. I’m sure you’ll remember it when you read the original Scripture below. I’ve used the N.I.V. version as it’s closer to the words of the song.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace. What we are looking at here, is the Universal Law of Duality and the cyclic nature of energy. Humankind, being the crystallisation of energy, is the arena for the interplay of the dual forces.
Walter Russell, in his books, “The Message of the Divine Iliad, Vol. I & II”, quite clearly tells us of the Universal Law of Balance: Rhythmic Balanced Interchange.
“Balance is the foundation of all human relations – of the universe itself. The stars of the heavens move in obedience to it.”
“Oppositely conditioned pairs in nature seek balance through each other by repeatedly giving all that each has to give to the other in rhythmic sequences. In nature all givings of one are perpetually balanced by equal regivings of the other. Nature never takes that which is not given.”
“Equal interchange between opposite conditions manifests the love principle of balance upon which God’s universal body is founded. Whatever is true of God’s universal body is true of man’s body. (This is why man is known as the microcosm in comparison to the universal macrocosm..Lyn) It is the equality of balance between the giving and the regiving of nature which makes its transactions perpetual. The lack of the love principle of rhythmic balanced interchange in the transactions of men, is the reason for the ills of the body and for the disasters which make continuance of relations between men impossible.”
To live a balanced life on a spiritual path requires a great deal of honesty, forgiveness and the ability to be able to release our hurts and pain. If we are not truthful with ourselves, we will never see our obstacles. To help you to see your own truth, it is necessary to run your thoughts through your heart before you speak them. If your heart was not injured, then neither would the heart of another be injured. As was given to the aspirants of old: “Be careful what comes out of your mouth. For it is not what goes into the body that defiles it, but what comes out. Until one’s lips lose the ability to wound, one cannot stand in the presence of God.”
As we learn to release the pain of old hurts, we also release the memory circuit that is connected to a weakened or dis-eased part of our body. This allows for a fuller flow through of the vital life force and allows the area concerned to relax and begin to heal; and so, the old memory can no longer be triggered by new experiences and we become free to live in health and harmony.
Please be patient with yourself. There is much to learn, some to un-learn, some to be deconditioned and some to be reprogrammed. In our society of instant food, instant coffee, instant this and instant that, shortcuts to success and the instant availability of an enormous amount of information, we expect instant change and transformation. I am sorry to disillusion you, but this is just not possible. We are protected from instant transformation by a very complex memory bank system. While this sometimes appears to be a great hindrance, nonetheless, if it were not necessary, it would not have been built into us. The path back to our source is a mirror image of the path we trod on the way out, and that which is out of balance, will at some point need to be balanced on the way back. The steps of meditation that each one of you are taking is one way of achieving this balance; but it would help to remember that these steps are being etched in energy only at this stage. Just like the etheric or linking body is the blueprint for the physical body to take shape, so too are the steps of meditation the blueprint for the reality of a future time. That future time depends entirely upon the commitment and dedication of the student. Granted, enormous changes will take place, and the opportunity is there for the discovery of your purpose on the earth plane, but without your commitment, there may be delays and setbacks. These, themselves are not to be looked at negatively, but merely as opportunities to develop some part that may be lacking at that particular time.
Now I will read you a mystery. Like the cocoon that evolves into the butterfly, so does the soul of man forever evolve, by degrees, into the perfection of the divinity within. This is the law of Evolution. There is one way you may hasten the process. For since man has been given the power of thought, and since thought creates, you can become that upon which you dwell. What does your garden look like?
..2
. In the previous issue, I spoke about preparing the gardens of your souls; preparing the soil by keeping out the weeds of fear and doubt, composting correctly by having the ability to process your mental conditioning and your emotional programming, and finally to water your gardens daily with patience, tenacity and enthusiasm. Your desires are used as fertiliser to enable your gardens to produce. So, what have you decided to produce?Remember, thoughts are seeds. They are living, vital substances made out of tender plastical energy and they will bring forth after their own kind, many fold more than the tiny seed planted i.e. the thought released. The seeds you plant within the garden of your own mind, are the flowers you see blooming in your everyday life. If you don’t like the flowers you see growing around you, then plant something different; i.e. change your thought patterns and watch something new start to grow.
Once upon a time, there was a young boy called Jack, a child who swapped his earthly possessions for some magic seeds. His mother, the feminine principle, the tester of the emotions, threw them outside where they immediately commenced to grow. The child was amazed to see that the beans had grown into a huge beanstalk by the next morning. With the curiosity that only children have, he proceeded to climb the beanstalk. He found himself in a strange land, and, seeing a castle in the distance, proceeded towards it. The castle belonged to a giant and was filled with treasure. On his first visit, Jack took a hen that laid golden eggs. He and his mother would never be poor again. But after a while, Jack grew restless, climbed the beanstalk again and once more set off towards the castle. This time he took a bag of gold, the next time he took emeralds and pearls and the last time he took the giant’s harp. But the harp was a magic harp and it cried out to it’s master. The giant awoke and chased Jack nearly all the way down the beanstalk. But Jack chopped the beanstalk down and killed the giant..
This story is allegorical. It signifies the awakening of the channel between the incarnate and the higher self. And yes, when the channel reaches into the higher realms, one does perceive the treasures that are hidden there. But the giant guards the entrance to the treasurehouse of truth..........those great jewels of power, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, beauty, perfection and light that can be brought down into physical consciousness. The very heaven within starting to outmanifest, which, when found, will fulfil all things, enabling transformation to take place. This door to the treasurehouse of truth has been thoroughly guarded, this kingdom of heaven within, because none could be entrusted with the ineffable power it contains without first learning the perfect control of their own thoughts and emotions, without giving up those things that are no longer necessary. The great vibrating love that you begin to feel physically in your body as you travel the meditative path, is the gate that is straight, and the Light of the Christ Consciousness is the path so few have found.
Whenever a discordant, angry thought rears its ugly head, it is an opportunity for you to exert your power and stay it with love. Love quells the vibrations of wrath instantly, and love alone can slay the giant (commonly called the dweller on the threshold) that lies within each one of you, guarding the entrance to that storehouse of treasure. You would all be aware that there are two aspects to human nature. One part which desires to cling to the things of the earth, and the other part which is not interested in earthly things at all, but hankers after those things we call spiritual. When you begin your spiritual journey, it will sometimes feel like you are the battleground as these two forces fight for dominance.
Most fairy tales concern themselves with these two parts of mankind’s nature, the material and the spiritual; and usually there is depicted the fight between the good and the so called evil. All these tales are allegorical and are a way of showing the general public the spiritual truths in story form.
Usually these tales begin............ “Once upon a time there lived a king who had a beautiful daughter.............” Various princes or other men of high standing would journey through thick and thin to try to win the hand of the beautiful princess. The princess is usually given in marriage to the one who could bring some coveted prize which always seemed to be hidden at the end of some quest which took them through dark forests, over high mountains and across turbulent rivers. Each one of the tests that the princes were required to undergo denotes an initiation and great courage was required of them to keep their eyes on the end goal as many temptations were there to ensnare them and to keep them from achieving their goal. Sometimes the prince is required to face some fiery dragon. This is the dragon of the self, the lower nature or the creative fire in man which must be controlled and transmuted. It is usually symbolised by the slaying of the dragon.
He might have to pit his wits against some quarry on a high mountain, using every ounce of his intelligence to win. Next, the prince might have to cross a turbulent river or meet a storm at sea. And here we see the prince triumphing over his unruly emotional nature. These tests symbolise the initiations of the four elements, fire, air, water and earth, earth being the last as it symbolises complete triumph over the earthly nature, and the birthing of the Christ Conscious in man.
The fairy tales that run in this vein usually recount the story of the evolution and development of the soul and at the end of each one comes the marriage of the prince and the princess, the mystical marriage, where man is able to join with his higher self.
Another story you may be familiar with is about a little princess who was born to a king and queen who had despaired of ever having a child. The royal parents were so thrilled they invited all the fairies in their kingdom to the christening except one who was evil. Because she wasn’t invited she gate-crashed the party and put a curse on the little princess to the effect that when she was 15 years old she would prick her finger and die. The youngest fairy who had hidden was able to change the curse from death to a deep sleep.A tremendous lesson lies here. The soul is destined to go through certain experiences for its spiritual development. The pricking of the finger and falling asleep is an allegory depicting the soul being bound by the material side of life.. Dear Ones, let me tell you that we are all like that princess, all bound by the material side of life, all asleep to the greater reality where the higher self lives. And this is why the Master said when He walked the earth, “Oh, ye who are asleep, wake up!” If you could see your higher selves (energy parent) you would be amazed. The higher self is just as beautiful as the princess was purported to be. In most people, that beautiful princess, the higher self has been injured, being bound by the chains of materiality for so long and has fallen into an enchanted sleep. And the only thing that will awaken it is love.
Sometimes, similar to the fairy tale, the higher self lies sleeping in a palace overgrown with bracken and poisonous weeds. The material world seems to fasten itself around the soul as it slumbers, revealing only the rough exterior, the prickly nature of the person. It is our task to always look for the princess hidden behind the weeds and the vines growing in the gardens of our souls. All have that higher princess self, the Holy Light within, it is up to each one of us to find it not only in ourselves, but to look for it in others that we meet, especially those with whom we feel discordance.
The steps of the meditative path take you through various experiences that enable you to dispense with the weeds and the vines and the bracken so that when you approach the parental palace at the end of the journey, it stands revealed in all its glory as does the parent, the higher self, the true self, who awaits your return. If you feel frustrated at being held up at various points along the meditative journey, perhaps re-reading some fairy tales will put your mind at ease. There are no actual hold-ups, merely periods of assimilation, periods of alignment or periods when some weeding needs to be done before further travel is possible. All parts of the meditation are carefully watched by the Sirian energies, no one is ever left to struggle on alone, and mostly, after one or two hiccups, the meditative journey proceeds as it should to the end.
Let me illustrate another famous fairy tale. One day a queen sat sewing by her window when she accidentally pricked her finger; a drop of blood fell onto the snow and the queen thought how wonderful it would be to have a daughter whose skin was as white as now, whose lips were as red as blood and whose hair was as black as ebony. The queen got her wish but died in childbirth, and the king eventually married again. But the stepmother was wicked and was consumed with jealousy as Snow-White grew into a beautiful princess. The wicked queen sent the beautiful princess into the forest to be killed but her plan was thwarted and Snow-White went to live with the seven dwarfs. She lived happily with the dwarfs until the wicked queen found out she was still alive.
The wicked queen, disguised as a witch, went into the forest herself to kill the beautiful princess and it seems she was successful, for when Snow White took a bite of the poisoned apple, she fell into a deep sleep. The dwarfs put her in a glass coffin where she remained until a handsome prince came along and awoke her. Naturally, she married the prince and lived happily ever after. Does this story sound familiar? I will leave this one up to you to interpret for yourselves. The Bible is another source of wisdom where many spiritual truths are depicted in allegorical and symbolical form so that the masses may, at least, have some idea about their spiritual heritage.

This month, I would like to touch briefly on the fairy tale theme again. I’m sure everyone is familiar with the story of Beauty and the Beast. It is the story about an enormously wealthy merchant, who, through very unfortunate circumstances loses all his possessions except a small country cottage. The merchant had six sons as well as six daughters and they all bitterly blamed their father for the way they were now forced to live. All that is, except the youngest daughter who was called Beauty. After a couple of years of extreme hardship, news came that one of the merchant’s ships, long supposed to be lost, had arrived in town with a rich cargo. Everyone was jubilant and poured requests upon their father to bring home gowns and jewels. Everyone that is, except Beauty. She asked only for a rose. When the merchant arrived in town he was met with disappointment. His partners believing him dead had divided the cargo between them. To make good his claim, he was forced to bring law-suits against them, which he won in the end, only to find that after his expenses, he was almost as poor as when he had started. To make his misery complete, he was forced to travel back home in the winter months, so that by the time he reached the forest near his home, he was utterly exhausted and collapsed. When he awoke he discovered a track which led him to a magnificent castle which the winter had not seemed to touch. He entered but could find no one. After searching the rooms, he found one with food laid out, so he ate his fill but was so exhausted he fell immediately asleep. When he awoke, he searched the castle again, but after finding no one at all, thought perhaps that Providence had been kind to him after all and that the palace with all its riches were for him. He decided to return home to bring his family back when he suddenly remembered the rose that Beauty had requested. After he had plucked the rose, he was startled by a noise behind him; he turned to see a hideous beast moving towards him.
“Who gave you leave to pluck my roses?” roared the monster. “Was it not enough that I made you welcome in my palace and treated you kindly? And you show your gratitude by stealing my flowers! Your insolence shall not go unpunished!”
After the terrified merchant explained why he wanted the rose, the Beast forgave him, but demanded that Beauty return to live at the palace. The merchant sorrowfully agreed and returned home to tell his family the sad news.Beauty agreed to go and live at the palace with the Beast, who each night, asked her to marry him. She always refused, but had grown very fond of him. She was happy there for a while because her dreams were filled with visions of a handsome prince, but longing to see her family once more overtook her. The Beast agreed to let her go sending trunks of gifts for the family with her, but asked her to return in two months time or he would surely die.
It was over the two months when Beauty had a dream that the Beast was dying. She returned immediately to the palace but couldn’t find him anywhere. She searched desperately for him everywhere and finally found him near death in his gardens. She said she was sorry that she had been away for so long and that she would stay with him forever because she loved him. The spell on the prince was broken and in a blaze of light, he returned to his true form, the prince she had seen in her dreams. Again, we are looking at an enchanted state that is only able to be broken by love. You each have a beast inside of you which today, is more commonly termed your shadow side. If, for example, I was to ask you for a description of the personality type which you would find the most impossible to get along with, you would produce a description of your own repressed characteristics. Normally, what you do not like about others, is what you need to look at inside of yourself. Unfortunately, although this shadow side of the personality is generally utterly unconscious in the individual, it is not so hidden from everyone else, and sometimes others will refer to it as your “blindspot.” No one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable honest effort, and because most people do not want to know about this aspect of themselves, it therefore, as a rule, meets with considerable resistance. However, recognizing your own beast or darkness, appears to be a necessary pre-requisite not only for self-knowledge, but also for knowledge and acceptance of others. Like everything else in the unconscious, the shadow, if it is not brought into the light of the current personality, will project itself onto a screen (some other person, partner, friend, workmate etc.) and mirror back to you that which you unconsciously try to repress. The individual concerned remains comfortably unaware that these qualities actually belong to him or her. Incidentally, your shadow is always the same sex as you are, i.e. a male having a male shadow and a female having a female shadow.
This process of coming to terms with the shadow is well worthwhile, (look what happened to Beauty) because in this way you get to know aspects of your own nature which you will not allow anyone else to show you and which you, yourself, will not or do not want to admit. When you find yourself overreacting emotionally, i.e. way out of proportion to the situation concerned, you should suspect that you are reacting to something of your own that you have failed to recognize.
So, what exactly is this shadow, this dark side of yourself? To maintain the current ego and to stop it dissolving back into unconsciousness, an entity of the same sex as yourself develops on the inner planes. It contains everything you have repressed or separated from, positive or negative, good or bad. As I stated previously, a man has a male shadow and a woman has a female shadow. This shadow side of yourself projects onto anyone you partner with, family members, friends or workmates; it then communicates to you through them.Until you get to know and come to terms with this shadow side of yourself, there is really no way you can ever understand your partner. When your shadow is unconscious to you, you are just reacting to that side of yourself that your partner is mirroring back to you, and conversely, you for your partner, because the projection of the shadow is always a two way street. Each partner lives out for the other what they do not know or accept about themselves. If you wish to use your marriage or partnership as a tool for transformation, the right place to begin is by accepting that your partner is doing precisely what your unconscious energies are manipulating your partner into doing or saying.
You may be thinking, hey, hold on a minute; but bear with me, I am talking about transformation here, something that we are all working towards. To help each other transform, it is vitally important that you take full responsibility for this without blaming the other partner for the way they act or speak. What they are doing in their reality experience, their movie drama, doesn’t make any difference. It’s what they are doing in your reality experience, how they are acting in your movie drama, that carries the sealed message from your shadow. It is only when you can take full responsibility for your partner’s behaviour (towards you) that will give you the insight into being able to experience the manipulation of your partner by your shadow side.
As you begin to realize what is happening, you can then begin to bring this energy back to live comfortably in your own life. Then you will find it no longer has to manipulate your partner into getting messages to you or doing whatever it is that is causing the problems between you, building walls and causing feelings of separation. If you’ve ever tried to change a partner, you already know the impossibility of doing this. Your partner can’t change as long as you continue to project a constant shadow energy onto him or her. But if you’ve gone all out on a personal transformation program, and have accomplished this change within yourself, you will find that your partner will automatically change too.
Children instinctively know about the shadow; sometimes many of their imaginary playmates are personifications of it. They will oftimes blame the playmate for their own unacceptable behaviour. It will be the imaginary playmate who broke the vase, or put chewing gum on the wall etc. If the child is accused of lying, he will become defensive and distressed saying it was the playmate. In a sense, the child is correct in so far as it seems like somebody else doing the deed, and of course, the child has no conscious control over it.
The shadow cannot be removed by trying to gain conscious control over it or by trying to exorcise it. So then, how do we deal with this shadow? We need to integrate all aspects of the personality via a change in conscious attitude. The more balanced we are in permitting our imperfections to express through the personality, the more balanced the shadow will be; but the more determinedly righteous we are, the darker and more destructive the shadow.
Shadow-dancing is a term that has been coined to denote the intricacies of partnership where two people have to respond or react quickly to the projection coming from the other when they are in the same physical space, each playing out the unconscious role needs of the other. The actions, interactions and reactions seem like a dance. Shadow-dancing occurs at its most unconscious when a marriage partnership is entered into. Marriage is supposed to be about two people coming together and agreeing to help each other through the transformation process. Marriage is an unconscious agreement on the part of both individuals to accept each other’s shadow projections and live them out until both achieve spiritual transformation. And as this process can be extremely painful, not too many are successful and instead of marital bliss we more commonly see that which should be termed just a living arrangement.
Try to remember that your partner lives out your shadow side. They show you your own hidden qualities, both positive and negative, which are unconscious in you. If you take responsibility for this and act on it, you will become conscious of just what you are projecting onto your partner (or anyone else who lives out your shadow side) and then life will become a joy, heaven on earth instead of the hell that so many project for themselves...7
“Those who are asleep, wake up!” What is meant by this ancient saying? Imagine that the morning sun is rising, but you are still in bed with your eyes closed. The morning is here but for you it is not here because you are still asleep. When you open your eyes and wake up, only then will it become a fact. For those who are awake to it, the morning exists, but not for you, it is hidden from you, only the darkness is for you, the light is hidden. But as soon as you open your eyes, the morning becomes a fact for you. It was already a fact, but you were asleep to it.
The Master has said that the world is already Divine, but you are asleep to that fact. You can see only what you see from your perspective of being asleep. You are blind to the light of the Divine, you see only the darkness of materiality. Matter is only the crystallization of energy, of the Divine. So even if you perceive nothing but matter, it does not matter that much, because you are still looking at the lowest vibration of Divinity, EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY NOT RECOGNIZE IT.
If you take the attitude that the world is a horrible place to be in, then after a while, your body will feel the effects of that attitude, because your body is a part of this world. In our Holy Books it states, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” You say this only because you are asleep to the Divinity of the world. When you are asleep, you cannot enjoy life, you cannot laugh, you remain without expression, serious. When you are serious you cannot be vivacious. Look around, how many people do you see who are playful and happy? They have robbed themselves of life because they are asleep; asleep to the wonders and the blessings of the world. You have heard of the expression “dead to the world,” when someone is asleep. This is also true for those who cannot accept life as it is. They deny it, they become dead to it.
And so, they search for the meaning of life, they meditate or they go to church or they try yoga or any of the other numerous avenues open to them. And the other world becomes what they are looking for, their vision. And the world that they are living in becomes something to escape from because it is so sinful.
Can you see why the admonition was given to “wake up”? Unless you wake up and accept the world totally, you will never be at ease within your being. Non-acceptance creates tension and tension creates resistance; resistance creates illness. Once you accept everything as it is, you can begin to grow. And as you grow and change, so then will the world around you change because the world around you is only a reflection of what is going on inside you. If something different was going on inside you, you would find yourself in different circumstances.
How do you think you can change and grow if you are tense or guilty or fearful or serious or depressed? Depression is usually a result of de-pressed emotions, usually anger. Emotions that have not been allowed expression. Once you accept something for what it is, your energy is taken away from it and can be used for something else.
How many of you lack energy? Are you using up your energy through worry, tension, fear, depression or grief? Do you know how much energy it takes just to keep emotions repressed?
Until you reach a certain Initiation, fate is your teacher. Accept your fate without crying about it then you will release your energy and the insights will come because they will not hindered by resistance...10
This month I am going to speak about the disciplines of the Holy Quest, or the requirements for Discipleship. This is most commonly called Walking the Path, or the Search for the Holy Grail. The most important thing that you will be required to do when things seem chaotic or out of balance is to learn to remain centered. When you remain centered, you will know how to think, how to react and how to bless those who constitute your present world. In these times of increased turbulence and stress, it is well to cultivate serenity. In your first morning meditation, devote 10 minutes to pondering the attainment of quietness for the next two hours as fully as possible - mentally, emotionally and physically. I can hear the screams of resistance already. All I am doing is trying to help you to align yourself from the centre of your being. It is unfortunate that people in our country are naturally restless and because of this and the rise in planetary vibrations that is currently affecting everyone, the radiations that are being emitted are tending to be distorted.
This is happening because people have forgotten how to remain centered. Another way of expressing this is: living in your communion. Those of you who will be active physically, can learn to express to the highest of your ability a greater degree of calmness and repose as you attend your daily work. Your physical body is not your centre, neither are your feelings, nor your mentality. So you will need to get beyond these levels, beyond the mind, yet the mind needs to open its door to be receptive to the Light that shines through from the Energy Parent (Higher Self). And many of you may be familiar with the words of the Loving Father who spoke through Jesus: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door I will come in to him and sup with him and he with me.”
You need to be able to centre yourself enough to create an inner awareness so that you can encourage intuitional impressions to flow into you not only when you meditate, but constantly throughout the day. Try to become conscious of this activity and learn to be responsive to it. If you find yourself unnecessarily stressed, take a moment to reflect upon the stillness in nature’s beauty, such as a pure white rose, or a moonlit garden, a lake in the forest or high mountain peaks. Try to think of individuals who are tranquil and peaceful. If you practice this constantly, your door will remain more open than closed and you will experience spiritual refreshment when you least expect it. Please remember that to walk the Path of Discipleship requires constant alignment with your Energy Parent to the point where it becomes second nature to you. In other words, think upon the beautiful things of this world to keep your vibrations higher.
Think only upon those things that you want; do not think upon that which you don’t want because whatever it is that you think about you draw to yourself. It is only through a one pointed effort that you can slowly climb the stairs that lead to liberation. This does not happen quickly but will happen if you are diligent in your efforts.
When you touch the outer limits of the kingdom of your Higher Self, you will experience peace, joy and relaxation such as you cannot find at any other level. Do not let the worries of the world concern you; instead, lift up all your thoughts, feelings and aspirations into this domain of peace. Leave the door between this level of consciousness and the higher level open so that you feel centered constantly.
As you learn to do this, you will be able to express the best of yourself to those around you. This will automatically lift them a little higher also. Learn to be in the world, but not of it. If you find this difficult to put into practice, think of the Sirian Teachers or one of the Ascended Masters at least every hour. This constant reminder will allow you to be aware of the Light that is constantly being beamed onto our planet to sustain us as we move through the vast range of frequencies now beginning to impact upon our planet.

This month we are going to be speaking about receptivity to the Inner Worlds. This is largely developed by both inner and outer stillness while focusing attention upon the Energy Parent/Higher Self without allowing the mind to descend to everyday affairs.
There are few who can, without much effort, distinguish the profound forces projected from higher levels of expression. Usually aspirants are insensitive to the potent energies because they have not developed the interest sufficient to ground these energies into the human aura. An aspirant becomes a Master not by his/her control of the elemental forces of nature, not be feats of magic, not by feats of prophecy, but by the conquest of the forces within their own nature.
So these thought forces weave in and out of the human aura and everyone has felt this phenomenon; a thought comes in and you know it for a second before you lose it; but then it has gone. Where did it go? It has been magnetically attracted to those who can receive it and sustain it.
It becomes necessary therefore, to strive for stillness until disciplined attention is attained and the mind can rest in the silence, or that which we term “Atava”. For those who have not been involved in any disciplines of the mind, the easiest way of achieving this is to simply watch your breathing.
Those who have been involved in other meditative practices with me, will have heard me say, “Take a deep breath in through the nose, sighing the breath out through the mouth.” So, one of the ways you can quiet your mind and access your spirit is to simply focus your awareness on your breathing. You can feel it as it flows through your body and after a while you will begin to deeply relax. You can listen to the sound if you are in a quiet place. This also will help you to achieve a more relaxed state. Breathing in this particular manner will raise the vibrations in the body and enable you to come closer to the energies of your Higher Self, or the ones who work with you.
If you feel yourself becoming too energized, you can resort to breathing either with your mouth open or closed. If you feel your mind wandering, bring it back to the breath. If your mind tells you that this is stupid, bring it back to the breath. If your mind tells you that you have other things to do, bring it back to the breath, it is an excellent way to learn control.
If you practice this at least once a day, more often if you have the time, you will enter into some profound experiences. Allow all thoughts just to pass through, all your doubts, all your processes, offer them up, on your breath to your Higher Self and have them transmuted. If you are diligent in your practice, you will find that your breathing pattern will change and your experiences will deepen. Go with the flow; we have been given the gift of breathing, so you can use it at any time. You could say that the breath keeps the mind busy while you are experiencing something much deeper than thinking. If there comes a time when you feel that you can’t meditate, breathe instead and you will feel yourself become inspired in a different way. Your answers will come through the channel of inspiration directly from your Source because you have got your conscious minds out of the way. Many of you try too hard to get answers through, and in fact you impede the very information you desire. The secret is to relax and enjoy. Take a few deep breaths to begin with, then allow it to find it own level. It will become very deep and relaxed as you relax.
Should an inspired thought then be projected towards you, you will be able to distinguish it and understand it presence. Gradually the full content of inner instruction will be opened to the aware individual through his quiet receptivity, and its many-sided portents will be disclosed to him. As time continues, each new impulse sent from a Higher Intelligence to an aspirant will be instantly recognized. Yet always the discipline at the human level must include not only intuitional alertness and responsiveness, but also quietness for expanded and quickened reception.
It would benefit everyone, if they took just a few minutes every hour to relax and breathe until a complete realization of stillness was obtained. This will not only prevent stress from building up during the day but will provide the means for establishing an ever-improving identification with the higher states of being. It is simply a matter of removing the veils of illusion so you can perceive what is.When the transitional period of moving from one age to the next is over, disease, discord, poverty and pain will be abolished and the true state of harmony and beauty will be experienced. The impression of this is already established in the higher realms and the imprint is to be seen throughout nature and humanity. When you look at a tree you see only the imprint of the tree in third dimensional reality. If I told you that you have not really seen a tree, you would not believe me because you look from one perspective only. Likewise, if I told you that you really do not see each other as you truly are………….perhaps the penny might drop. The planet and all those upon it are going through a process of ascending from one vibrational state into another and depending upon where you are at, this will either be a rapid process or a slow one, but happen it will.
Man is signified as a microcosm in comparison to the macrocosm of the universe. That is if you wish to understand the universe, you will find the same patterning in man. When an aspirant enters the Return Path, the Pathway of Self Mastery, the Ascension Path as demonstrated by the Master, he starts from the “Fall” to find his way back to the Edenic state...12
There has been vast interest in the natural healing sciences of late, particularly spiritual healing, so this month I will attempt to give some information pertinent to that subject. If you are seeking the unfoldment of the natural healing abilities within yourself, the most important thing is to focus your whole mind on the goal of inward peace. When you pursue this task wholeheartedly, you will find your conscious channeling of healing energies begin.
The second thing that needs attention is the quality of thoughts that you allow into your mind, something that you will realize later for yourself. Just as you would no longer take into your body food whose effect is poisonous and detrimental, so must you deliberately refuse all unsavoury and negative thoughts that impact upon your brain centres.
Whenever you can during the day, practice cleansing your mind. One of the easiest ways is to imagine a stream of sparkling white light coming through the centre at the top of your head, washing through your brain centres, cleansing and purifying them, so the mind can become more peaceful and relaxed. As you begin to feel the peaceful and harmonious vibrations, allow the light to move through your body then spread out into your aura. This enlivening and enlightening must be held before the inner self with objectivity. Why do you think we are reminded of this in the Bible? And I quote, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” Php. 2:5.
Thirdly, far too many students fail to use their imaging faculty. Everyone has this ability to one degree or another, but, of course, it does depend on what element is prevailing in the personality as to how clear the image will be. The images should unfold in the mind the same way they do when you are engrossed in reading a descriptive novel. With practice, this ability, the same as any other, can be enhanced.
A lot of people think about what they don’t want, rather than what they do want. If things don’t go as planned, they immediately think the worst and hold those thoughts, sometimes until they outmanifest. But what would have happened if they had held the positive vibration instead? As the vibrations on the planet rise, you will find that your ability to manifest those things you think about will happen much more quickly. This is why it is important to hold in your mind only pure and noble thoughts. How can you manifest a strong healthy body when you are constantly allowing negative thoughts to prevail in your mind?
Western allopathic medicine holds to the view that disease is caused by bacteria, germs, viruses or emotional stress or psychological problems which change our normal bodily functioning. But I would have to ask the question, if our vibrations were held above the level where these influences operate, would they be able to affect us?
Therefore, would it not be good to allow yourself to envision the world constantly at peace, to look only for the good in people, even while they are displaying their negative side? This attitude will assist you tremendously in forming new life habits.
Once these new habits of thought form automatically, you may find yourself thinking about being more specific in the way you can assist. At any quiet moment during the day, commune with your Source in a manner similar to this:
“Father/Mother God, (whatever name you feel most comfortable with) let these moments as well as my thoughts be used as channels for healing currents to assist humanity, governments, groups and all creatures on the planet. As my thoughts are now with those in need, let your spiritual powers stream through each one bringing healing and improvement into their lives.”
One by one, individuals who especially come forward in your mind at this moment should be thought of in the highest possible light with the realization that their bodies are spiritual substance being molded into new form by the power of thought and prayer.
As this new activity of the mind is cultivated with persistence and maintained, each one will gradually become aligned with the Throne of Grace. For the moments you are remembering these persons, governments, systems, causes or needs, they are brought into contact with the Spirit of Grace and Its infinite mercies. Please remember - there is the law of Karma, and there is the Law of Grace. And as more and more people pray and bring healing and assistance through for others, we will begin to operate more under the law of the latter.
When you are completely immersed in the vibrations of the love of the good, the blessed and the evolving currents of the Divine, you will find yourself healed and centered in the good that you seek. Learn to be at peace with yourself and others, for only in this way can your day be attuned and beautiful; for truly, it is a beautiful world in which we live, only you can’t see that if you still exist in the lower vibrations.
When you become an instrument for the Divine, you play a part in anchoring the Light onto the planet. You are being urged, especially at this propitious time, to bring peace to your entire life. Do not allow yourself to express anything whatsoever that closes out the Light. Everyone and everything should be allowed to enter your attention peacefully, your thoughts courteously, and your care lovingly.
How can the New Age, the era of peace become established on our planet unless it starts with each one individually?
Let there be peace, honour, respect and certainty of the kind that attunes you with levels beyond the mundane. Cease to serve death by conquering in the self all that divides, segregates, diverges, divorces, distorts, deforms, misrepresents, abuses or censures. In your meditations, pray for every offender, troubled situation, or other events you may be aware of, until the Light in your inner temple transforms the elements composing your body.
The more perfect the vessel of one’s spirit, the greater the power it can exercise on the imperfect crystallization of coarse matter. This fact is responsible for the metamorphosis that may take place in humanity. We are at a critical time on our planet, a time when the low quadruplicity is being transformed into the high trinity, a time when animal-man is ascending into God-man.
